  • Let's get manual static multicommunities, and then let's see for algorithm managed ones

    https://piefed.social/ has "Topics" already

  • I'm in that Matrix, things stopped happening around 6 months ago.

Or they have a chat without me 😄

  • It's more how to keep the information between two people, such as messages. As we know, messages on Lemmy can be seen by admins

  • Probably very difficult due to network effect indeed. Also privacy would be a challenge I guess?

  • Languages are different, not all people know all of them.

If you get a book draft in Persian, are you going to continue writing in that language, or will you translate to one of your main languages?

  • True, but at the same time maybe he doesn't want to talk on Lemmy that much. Also I think they also manage Mastodon, that would be something to stay active there regularly too

  • Seems like everyone just proved yesterday that a community could be migrated in a few hours if needed 😄

More seriously, you're correct, it will probably happen gradually with a few early adopters

  • Does your university has a subreddit? Just copy pasting news from there every week would help.

Also create regular "Discussion thread" like once a week

  • Sublinks main dev got a child.

Piefed dev knew Python and not Java

  • I trust him as a sysadmin. Not sure he does that much moderation these days

  • I don't remember who said it, but the "community members are not cattle that you can just move around" seemed fit

  • I usually trust LW, especially Ruud. One point I just don't get is why staying federated with Threads

  • I think if y’all want new mods then that’s fine, but I don’t think your beef is with the whole mod team. Lots of us agree that this should have been handled better and that there should have been more transparency. Some of them haven’t even been here for the past few days

Just wanted to chime in and say this was legitimately written by the entire mod team in a group google doc. This is not me using the royal we.
