  • In terms of WMs, I would say sway and river are the most straightforward to setup, the rest like dwl and hyprland might require more setup for different reasons like hyprland outside of arch but it works well in my machine

  • Awesome list!!! Thx for your work 🙏

  • Stop using gitlab.com for projects - Credit card info required for new registrations

  • This is wild 💀

  • I would just use kdenlive personally since the UI is very straightforward. I think almost every distro has kdenlive, and if it isn't on the package manager of the distro you can install it as a flatpak as well.

Maybe try distros that have more recent updates, might feel less clunky, like nobara, fedora, openSuse (the semi-rolling release version), garuda and PopOs.

  • Really awesome project. I like their ambition to compete with google (brave search is independent also but bad track record apparently)

  • The data lost that occurred due to the lack of differentiation between year 1900 and 2000 on calendar systems of the older computers?

  • I tried to upload a bigger image but Lemmy wasn't allowing me to do so with 'file too big' error. I like Yambar cause its easier to customize it with custom scripts (like having a script to show how many packages to update) and also the feel of it is different and interesting to use.

Edit: I now have added a link for a higher res version of the image in the description 🤙

  • Linux mint, if there is any problem try popOS.

Also would recommend trying out the distros before you install them in a virtual machine since it's easier to try multiple distros without the hassle of setting them up. Since you are in windows at the moment, you probably should try virtualbox

Edit: ventoy is a pretty cool project for when you want to setup a pen with the installation isos to the baremetal.

  • Really like it, i just would make the bottom bar more retro and if you could do the same for the top one even better. I do like the purple, it gives more synthwave vibes

  • Thx for the recommendation, this seems to be pretty great, specially to access other services like bilibili and niconico without spyware alongside youtube 🤙

  • Damn, that's a cool way to explain how that tech works in a chewing gum package

  • Very good video, the content and the editing are superb 👌💯

  • Understood 👌

  • Like the nature theme of the setup, nice artix rice 👍

  • Awesome project! Makes everything much more accessible to use 👌💯

  • I think you might like the nvchad project it has some features that make you not rely 100% on keystrokes for everything, also a integrated cheatsheet just in case

  • All those features + vim mode, damn can't wait 🤤
