  • You are correct. I know it is a tax that will be paid by us. These will probably collapse the US economy. I give it 8 months. Then another 6 to start wiping out the rest of the worldwide markets. Maybe two years before we become a warring shithole with nukes.

  • We have always been at war with East Asia.

  • They sold out because there weren't any. UFD tech waited in line at micro center, until they found out how few were available. I believe Steve has a video on calling it a paper launch. The alternative is to buy 4080's and even 3080's, until the price becomes too high on used and older GPUs. We saw that happen during covid. Yes, Nvidia makes all kinds of chips, GPUs and especially high end ones are a very small part. A very large and growing segment of Nvidea is also vehicles, which in America is now tariffed on Mexican and Canadian production an additional 25%. Almost all portable electronics have chips from Taiwan or China in them. We are already in a trade war with China, so now we are staring one with the alternative? OpenAI can move to Vancouver all they want, but I bet the 25% tariffs from there will hurt also. Plus, If AI firms don't need as many of the AI chips, as recently shown, then that market goes down. Google makes their own server chips with cpus produced in... Taiwan.

These tariffs, if not removed, will crash the US economy and possibly the global economy with it. Good luck everyone! or as POTUS says " Jesus didn't need electricity".

  • Remember, the tariff is 25-100%. Let's just say it ends up at 50%. How many gamers will pay 3k for a 5090? It is a mediocre upgrade this generation anyway. Also, both AMD and Intel GPUs are made in Taiwan (TSMC). Nvidia's profits lately have been coming via ai chips. The Chinese just showed us that those aren't needed. Jensen and his cousin at AMD are 2 of the smartest CEOs in the country, they know that tariffs like this will crash demand, give China an opening, and possibly wreck the US economy.

  • Canada and Mexico should work together and add a 25% export fee to oil. I wonder how long these idiots stay in power if gas is $7 or more a gallon.

  • I am pretty sure you can remove "federal prisons" from that title. They won't stop until they kill/deport/force to leave, anyone who is an "other" to them.

  • I'm am pretty sure Trump was thinking that Obama hired Gimmly, and all he does is smash the console with an axe. Happens when half the country looks at Trump and thinks, " Oh ya, this guy is stable enough to run the country"

  • Hmmm. Sounds like if California can't get aid from the federal government, then they will just have to use their own money. I would suggest the comptroller to order all federal tax money in the state sent to Sacramento for use as disaster relief. They can't prosecute 40 million people not paying taxes.

  • Thanks, it is not your fault. As I said, it may be legit, but I just feel like everyone wants to be first to report something before fact checking. This incident is very strange, and the suspect seems to be all over the map. There was an article yesterday that reported on his very recent communications with his ex girlfriend. Matthew was currently engaged (previous marriage and divorce) and had a young child. Strange that he is communicating with his ex( not his previous wife), the day before he shoots himself. There are other writings that Vegas police have shared that seem to contradict the incident, so we may never know what actually was going on with him.

  • Please remember to check the source. I believe Shoemate has been known to falsify emails in the past. Also, if you check out the screenshot he shared on the podcast, the email has spell check cues highlighted. This means it is in edit mode, not a capture of a real email. As someone else posted, the writing style and subject does not seem to match his previous known writing. There may be good explanations for these discrepancies, but I do not trust most of the reporting to actually dig into sources before posting online to get clicks.

  • I have a question about this that I have been thinking about. If they did this, probably through executive order, Would they not create a situation that the US federal government does not have jurisdiction over illegal immigrants? The federal government has jurisdiction or it doesn't, there is not an in-between. This would shift jurisdiction to the states, which would be a nightmare for the people trying to do this. I suppose you could change the meaning of the word "Jurisdiction", but since it is in the constitution, that would effectively change the meaning in all federal law, also a nightmare scenario. The only way I can see this type of order or law passed, without amending the constitution, would be to pass the law and try to stall it to deport as many as you could. I think this would not work also, due to lower court judges stopping it, and forcing the supreme court to take it up. Then I guess it would take some mental gymnastics for them to get it passed and not start a civil war.

  • I think Biden should use his pardon power for good. I don't have a huge problem with this, but I want him to do something unexpected. Biden should pardon all the married immigrants after his program was recently shot down in court. For those that don't know, Many immigrants are married to US citizens, but cannot achieve citizenship that you normally would be able to do. It hinges on entering the country Illegally, which requires them to leave for up to 10 years before re applying for citizenship. Biden could pardon the "crime" of illegal entry, this removing the INS statue of not allowing them citizenship.

  • This can be a good lesson for anyone buying a vehicle. There are 3 items in a sale: the vehicle, the title, and the money. No one person should have all 3 items. Also, do not buy cars from people without the title, or title complications. These type of sales are a risk, and unless you are willing to lose the money, stay away. I always like to do a pre inspection, or have someone I trust do one, as that is a good way to mitigate the risk.

  • Where did they confirm the rifle? Initial reporting was an AK-47 and a scope, then I heard AR type (whatever that means). I was dubious on an actual AK (not AKM or 74), and am very surprised on an sks. This guy was gonna make a 4-500 yard shot with an SKS??? And it must have been a modified or later paratrooper model, because I don't think they had scope mounts on regular SKS, not even the side mount bracket. It has been so long since I had my "Big 5 sports" $99 SKS, but I don't think I could hit a head shot at 400 yards with 7.62 on my best day.

  • Maybe they can sue for billions. Gawker got sued out of existence, I hope she gets some good US attorneys and files in a jurisdiction that has unlimited damages. Maybe we can all use the new "K" platform after she owns "X".

  • Oh, look, more war crimes from Russia.
