What are the predictions for the antizionist movement when a ‘peace deal’ is reached? We here all know it would not stop the oppression of the Palestinians and a continuation of the fight is necessary, but we would probably expect more hostility from liberals who want to go back to pretending that everything is fine. How can we prepare for this scenario?
I had just woken up and immediately texted my friend who lives there. He was worried and so I wished him strength. He is a really strong person and recently had to evacuate for the second time. When I messaged him that day I couldn’t imagine the horrors that he’d have to go through these past 2 years. I know that death would be a relief to him as he said so many times but I still fear for his life.
A lot of European communist parties will participate in elections not because that’s their strategy for change, but because it’s a great way to get media attention and thus grow as a party. It’s just PR.
It matters a lot whether they waste their time and energy on soliciting votes instead of actually making people communists.
I learned not to share with potential partners the sexual assault I experienced because some people will fetishise my SA and try to recreate it if I date them. It takes a while to figure out that this is happening and it actually feels way worse as betrayal of my trust than the actual SA.
I also have experiences of SA where the perpetrator was a woman and I don’t even try to bring it up to people because I know they won’t take me seriously.
Does anyone have info on how the change of weather season might increase danger for upcoming flotillas? I thought that GSF was organised somewhat in a hurry because September is the last month before the weather makes it too dangerous to take the journey on sea.
In The Netherlands there was a protest if about 1000 people at the ministry of foreign affairs. There are rumours that the ministry was occupied but I can’t find much info on it. My guess is that people entered the ministry and occupied the lobby for a while but probably weren’t able to get further inside the building before police violently removed them.
Now protesters are blocking the train tracks of The Hague Central Station that is right next to the ministry of foreign affairs.
Large disruptive protests are not common in The Netherlands so this is pretty historic even though it’s small compared to protests in other parts of Europe.
Why does this person think samsung has some kind of magical solution to shrink the battery again or something? They need to go to ER and get it cut off asap.
If the occupational army kills the people on the flotilla it will cause massive civil unrest in a large part of the world that we need to use to our advantage to increase pressure on complicit governments and entities. If the occupation doesn’t kill everyone, then the flotilla will likely succeed in breaking the siege and getting food into Gaza. This creates an opportunity for us to increase pressure on governments to do their duty in preventing genocide and provide aid. Because if a bunch of civilians can break the siege, imagine what armies can do.
I share your concern and care deeply about the people on there, but they are not putting their bodies on the line because they want our sympathy. They do it to direct attention towards Gaza and the genocide and to break the siege. Whatever happens, it is our duty to use the momentum the flotilla is creating towards pressure on complicit governments and entities.
To be fair from my perspective I was born in the perfect time because this shit is actually something I’m good at. Thinking about it as building infrastructure for when shit hits the fan is a good perspective on this. I’m still in the phase of accepting that shit going to hit the fan. And yeah the organising we do is powerful because all small projects internationally together build the basis for a better future.
My organising work makes me feel so out of touch sometimes. I’ll get immersed in projects and feel frustration/success based on the outcomes but then get harshly thrown into reality whenever I read about the atrocious things happening in the world and people putting their actual bodies on the line.
It makes me feel so small and like I’m just playing with toys not making any significant difference. At the same time I know that our work is important too and I have a duty to continue and not give up. It’s just a harsh world we live in.
