  • I'd say not just cops, it's more which power brokers are involved and need this contained.

Cops are low-influence actors in such cases. They're as railroaded as the accused.

  • Uggh, glass back too. Why?

At least someone will probably build a Lineage image for it, but glass back?

  • What OS would be helpful. I assume you mean Windows.

If running Home, that's half the problem. It's got more crap than Pro, and lacks support for Group Policy. If you can run Pro, it's a big help.

WinDebloat on Github works very well.

Even better is to use the LTSC (Long-term Service Channel) versions of Windows. These already have almost no bloat, and won't break stuff from updates, because they only get security updates twice a year. No monthly feature updates.

The LTSC link above also has activation scripts, provided by microsoft.

  • I think you misread, OP is saying the system is using to little ram and too much swap.

  • Yet another argument for root. Then you can exclude the VPN app from OOM. Or even move it into /system.

I understand why this isn't done (moving such apps to system), since mobile uses immutable OS concept. But we still need a way to manage such apps appropriately.

  • Yep.

Caterpillar made/makes flywheel UPS systems, where the flywheel is in a vacuum and uses magnetic or air bearings.

It's much safer having 300 flywheel UPS racks than having 300 battery based systems. Also lifespan is much greater.

  • Depends on the state.

There's a lot of variability in the way it works, even then.

Still probably best to look for something new, right now.

  • Both.

He's an outside observer, and spot on.

  • Wow, nice assumption.

    Also, define "white".

Are southern Italians "white"? Greeks? Bulgarians (who can range from Irish white to Indian brown)?

How about Roma? Do you even know who Roma are? You probably (insultingly) call them Gypsy. These are people who have been shat upon by virtually every society in existence over the last 10,000 years, and they too can range from Irish to Indian (since they originate from what is now northern India). Are they white?

  • Interesting, I've never seen this behaviour on Windows.

  • Lol, now they have content concerns?

  • I've been using Syncthing-Fork for years. It's better all around because it moves sync conditions to within each sync folder.

So my photos sync immediately (over any network or battery status), but my app config export folder (say my podcast app) only syncs on power and wifi.

  • Nice, looks delicious!

  • Ah, yes, everyone should do the right thing.

But here's the issue, - everyone is human. We make mistakes. So the rules of the road are about mitigating risk.

As some who's driven, cycled, and motorcycled something around a million miles in my life, I've had many circumstances where I avoided problems because I was (fortunately) being conservative.

And I've been lucky, many, many times where I wasn't being as attentive as I should be, but the other person was.

You're saying we should clip those corners, reducing the margins.

  • So, respect cyclists as much as car drivers, except when it's inconvenient for you to follow the rules of the road?

Intersections are probably the most dangerous place on the road, or at least that's what I was taught in motorcycling class 40 years ago.

If a cyclist can ride right through this, why can't I on my 125 motorcycle?

And yes, I disagree with filtering. I understand the arguments for it, but it introduces so much risk as cagers aren't looking for you.

  • Monday doesn't bother me. I like what I do, if I didn't, I'd be looking for something else.

Everywhere you go will have it's share of shit to deal with, because people.

Early in my career a boss said "If I have 3 people working for me, I have 9 problems to deal with".

Society is the challenge with work, which is why big companies focus on team building. Us technical types tend to be rather oblivious to it (or downright adversarial), so his leadership made a big impact for me. I'm grateful to that.

I honestly have no idea what point OP is trying to make.

  • "there was lack of demand, and it couldn't also take passengers"

But hey, keep on reinterpreting words to support your preconceptions.

  • The only part you missed was the traitor Nader telling the Saudis to embargo to get weapons.

  • Wtf is "hate speech"?

A: whatever those in control decide it is, used as a means of suppressing dissent.

Just think about that for a bit. What if I controlled Bluesky and decided your description of "toxicity" was hate speech?
