  • Lol, I do what I can. Let me try harder. I love hollow, and play back through dark souls when I can. Hollow knight's world doesn't quite have the same replay value for me. Dark souls doesn't quite have enough of a game play loop difference to make me even care about the different weapons.

  • Because while the concept "the cruelty is the point" doesn't apply to every person who votes republican, it applies to a whole damn lot of them. Nearly every single one of the political actions taken by republicans that we have issue with: not feeding kids at school; trying to get rid of welfare, food stamps, assistance for people with newborns; not implementing healthcare for all; state level republicans targeting cities like Houston, Tx; Montgomery, Alabama; etc.; all comes down to them not wanting 'those people' to be helped.

    As for the second? Yup. I've got three dependents to take care of and various other people who I help out. There's no way I can contemplate letting them all suffer if something happened to my income. We're wage slaves.

  • In Hawaii it's quite funny to see, because it if can be reached, it can be taken. So there are these hilarious fellas who have these baskets on long poles, and at the end of it there's this little hand/grabber thing. They reach out as far as they can over the fence, press the button at the bottom, and fwoomp! There goes the fruit from the tree into the basket. I remember my cousin staking out avocados waiting for them to get ripe.

  • Oh, just insert whatever you remember from reddit. Replies that are obviously jokes but off topic, mimicking a meme or such; doing the 'follow the link' meme (though I only remember that one popping up once or twice); sounding out a sentence one word per reply... I saw all of those get panned or promoted. Some people screamed about leaving such habits at reddit, others thought they were the height of humor.

  • That's been a welcome change in the last ~6 months. It was a fire hose blast of people going back and forth on whether a 'thing' was brought over from reddit, and whether or not it was welcome.

  • Sure, facebook has been doing it for years. They build shadow profiles on people, allegedly 'only' (massive air quotes around that one) so if those people ever join they'll have links and photos and such already waiting for them.

  • Texas is pretty dang purple. As others have mentioned, there is some serious voter suppression that goes on. Just take a look at that crazy law that targeted (basically, only) the county that Houston is in, allowing the state administration to throw out their votes.

  • It definitely counts as an unreasonable change. If you quietly accept it, or quit due to it, you won't get the help. If you set things up in your favor by replying to the mandate with language along the lines of 'such a significant change to working conditions requires a renegotiation of my contract' then you're placing yourself in a good position to say that you were constructively dismissed, not that you quit.

    A change from working wherever you are (which could be hours away if you were full remote) to the office is just as significant as being moved from one metropolis to another.

  • How is this a bad thing? You're looking from the top at an alien who has the lord simba tattooed on the scalp. That's the sort of alien I want coming to earth.
