  • Unfortunately I live where its cold and raining 99% of the time. They are trying to build a line from where i live to where I work though so it might be bearable to bike the distance to the station in the rain

  • Solid post, froge approved.

  • There are lakes in the ocean called brine lakes/pools. Brine is essentially concentrated saltwater; its high salinity means it's denser than water. On rare occasions, brine doesn't mix enough with the existing saltwater around it, sinking to the bottom of the ocean and forming these lakes. The lake itself is usually devoid of life; brine itself is so salty that animals go into toxic shock if exposed for too long. However, the edges usually are full of life, where usually things like mussels and other extremophile organisms thrive.

Side note, subnautica's lost river is based off of this. No big leviathans in real life though, at least none observed yet...

  • Gotta look at the right places and be patient

I went to an estate sale and got a bunch of freebies

I also picked up folding mattresses for 10 usd when a new one is 60 ish

My pc is a secondhand for about 600 or so when the parts itself are 1.2k new

Buying secondhand is not the same as just walking into a store and finding what you need at a fixed price.

Sure it's harder especially for certain things (mostly hobbyist stuff and fashion) but TVs are not hard to find for a reasonable price.

  • Give it a month or so until tariffs are fully incorporated into daily costs

Then we're in for a ride

  • I used to get a daily dose of tea from aita and tifu

It's like reading a drama but for some random person's life somewhere on the planet

  • The college special

Just a bit of minor data cleanup beforehand, totally legit

Look at youtube for guides on customizing your mouse

You'd prob want to sand the mouse to let the primer adhere better, and go with small coats.

A outer protective coat after would prob work wonders since your finger oils will mess up raw paint fast

Disassembly is actually really easy for mouses so you can spray paint pieces individually, or at least just the shell

  • The change is that companies will use this to commence the massive layoffs once again citing hard financial times but still pay the execs the same big bucks

  • Win win situation is if the west coast breaks off from the rest of the US. We'd finally be free from idiocracy. The red side of the US didn't want us anyways

  • Anyone ever try the windshield resin kits? I also have a couple of knicks but am a little lazy to repair it, especially since idk how the resin will look.

  • 30% seems pretty generous. Nevermind the complete collapse of trade and alliances we built over the past century, won't countries stop using the us dollar as the backing reserve? Which will likely set america on an even further downward trend, especially since the dollar isn't on the gold standard anymore?

  • I mean lots of companies are declaring bankruptcy already

  • Dogequest said it will remove the personal details of Tesla drivers only if they can prove they have sold their vehicles.

It is unknown if all the names listed on the map are Tesla owners. In New Jersey, the site listed close to 50 alleged owners.

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2025/03/19/dogequest-website-is-reportedly-exposing-tesla-owners-sensitive-info/82546251007/

NBC News spoke to six Tesla owners or their representatives who confirmed that at least some information on the website was accurate, though other owners said that in some cases phone numbers or addresses were out of date.

Considering one of their statement literally says that to prove you shouldn't be doxxed you have to give out even more private info, it seems pretty telling.

  • You shouldn't be ok with doxing people even if they are not good people.

It's an all or nothing standpoint. If you are fine with people getting doxxed for some reason you believe to be evil, then you inadvertently say that doxxing as a whole is fine. Eventually someone innocent is going to get doxxed, whether it be by accident (no such list of doxxed people is 100% accurate) or by someone with different viewpoints than you.

  • Youtube is not all bad. The algorithm is, but the vast amount of content on it means that theres some genuinely helpful stuff. Videos about repair and fixing, educational videos on any subject in the world, videos about acceptance and self love

There's no hope for facebook though, except the not so facebook marketplace (im gonna need a resurgence in like craigslist for that)

  • Also super cheap. I think last time i bought 50 for 6 usd and Im still using that box

  • Shoes are pretty easy to guesstimate for US sizes if you have average feet (width being the biggest reason this fails). Men size is basically women size plus 1.5. This doesn't work if you have a large foot size though, since women's dont go up to the same max as men's

Clothes are 100% a pain. Especially online shopping
