  • Pol Pot, Ceausescu, and progressive Christians are all outliers in their movements.

  • Lemmygrad is like us but more serious communism talk, Lemmy is like us but we're trying to act like reddit normies.

  • No,

  • I used to be horribly depressed on a daily basis and getting through my teens and twenties was so god damn hard. Transitioning helped with some of it, but I will still hella depressed.

It like, got better over time, mostly as my life stabilized. Now that I have a stable relationship and career and the bad parts of my family aren't in my life anymore, I'll go years between depressive episodes, and when I do get them there is less general negativity in my life exacerbating it.

I'll probably have waves of depression all my life, but they are way more manageable now that my life is more managed too.

  • "Let's both agree to stop doing those airstrikes that you keep doing."

  • The people in these camps are not ISIS.

  • Please elaborate.

  • Also Chinese

    are still

Seeing a lot of pics that wouldn't be out of place on a "anti-woke" youtube channel.

  • Gotta prop up the downtown real estate market somehow.

  • They replaced my regular commuter bus with a snakeybus, which is cool I like snakeybusses, but ever since they did that somehow it's constantly full during my commute. I used to get to sit on regular bus - there is only standing room by the time snakeybus reaches me.

Which is still a little nicer than when I had to take the light rail? Like the max is fine 99% of the time, but also every time something bad has happened to me on transit, it has been on the rail. Been assaulted twice in the last two years, and both times nobody intervened (I can't really blame them for that, given we've also had some high-profile stabbings of Good Samaritans in recent years!). The bus feels way safer, since the driver can at least notice when someone is being belligerent.

Also for an actual pet peeve, they recently raised fare by 30 cents but didn't adjust the payment system, so you can still only load your bus pass in whole dollar increments (minimum $5). Used to be $5 a day, easy peasy, now it's $5.60 and you always have a weird amount left over afterwards. Like oh no I only have $2.60 on my card, 20c short, better load another minimum $5.

  • Got a 3 hour drive tomorrow and need something to listen to. Something funny but also lefty (bf is a commie but doesn't listen to explicitly commie stuff).

We really enjoyed that "race around the world" Dollop last long drive - what's your favorite episode?

  • My entire family are progressive liberals so holidays are usually fine for me, but I have the sinking feeling my dad is gonna come at me with election conspiracies tomorrow.

  • Mostly normal stuff (phone, wallet, keys, water bottle) but also pepper spray and narcan. My work is pretty cool about giving me free narcan in case we come across someone ODing, and I have ended up using it a few times. I also got this neat little flashlight with a really wide LED that a robot supply store sent me as a bonus thingy.

  • We should pick our battles. Do you want to get nuked for Ukraine of all places?

  • Regardless of this, I do not think we should escalate things with a nuclear power.

  • What kinda gun shoots those?

  • Robert Fedvans hasn't seen a contemporary american coup that he didn't like. He has defended the destruction of Libya, Euromaidan, the Bolivia coup, is against every counter-imperialist force out there... He's a lib, and a real shitty one.
