I've never thought about it much, but of all my bikes in over 40 years on this planet only one was from non-European brand - Merida. Everything else, from Soviet kids bikes to Commencal full sus - everything was European.
These are not actually property taxes. Stamp duty is like VAT, it's a transaction tax and its rate is very low. You don't pay stamp duty while owning a property. Council tax is a weird abomination and while it is linked to property value in theory, in practice you'll pay the same amount if you live in a £1m house or £50m mansion. Business rates are for business, and property owners don't pay them, only those who rent.
There are no property taxes in the UK. The current government is thinking about land tax, but we'll see if it ever comes to fruition.
Motorcycles are a bad example, because safety regulations for them are completely different due to the way they function. Moto gear with a helmet provides better overall protection than an air bag with seatbelts in a car. Also a seatbelt in a motorcycle would be a death sentence.
Or public transport. It doesn't have touchscreen either.
Do you live in a stone age or something? The first time I saw a touch screen on a bus built into the backs of the seats was like 12 years ago or so. Pretty much all long distance public transport has them these days, apart from low cost airlines like Ryanair.
