  • Mercator does compensate for that by introducing reference rectangles. But of course, that doesn't help when people making posts using those maps, are unaware of how to read them. And also just remove said reference rectangles

  • I can see you care about this topic. I'm not here to piss in your soup. I just said what the purpose is.

But in essence you are correct. The problem isn't that you can print certain parts, it's how easy it is to access everyone else supporting it. E.g. bullets or shells

  • Right. Sorry, my bad.

  • The landmass in the very top left on the image in this post. Is Iceland.

Greenland is not northeast of Iceland either. It's northwest.

  • Greenland is not in the image

  • Imagine having fully operating concentration camps where people from all over the country is arbitrarily "detained" and put in, and just going about your day like usual.

  • The two "maps" are wildly out of proportions anyway. Looks like Sweden is the size of the entire US West Coast. When in reality it's about the size of California

  • Let's just say I've used Rainmeter a lot. And by a lot i mean for about 20 years. Is it possible people have created replica themes on Conky or viseversa on Rainmeter? For sure. I just found it funny that the image included Rainmeter skins. They're the kind of images you'll see as the poster for certain themes. And I've scrolled through more of them than I'd like to admit. And many of them are reposted a lot but use the same poster/thumbnail

  • It's not running an individual desktop for each screen. The screens are just mirrored to one desktop.

You'll usually have a couple of "ad desktops" and then you just hook up multiple screens all over your facility to those desktops, so you have some redundancy and can easily run different ad cycles so they all don't sync up.

  • I love that many of the pictures in the bottom are from Rainmeter. A software for Windows that allows you to place customised widgets anywhere. So... literally have nothing to do with Linux

  • US weapons are unreliable, because the US is unreliable. They've made that very clear over the last 10 years.

Why should anyone in Europe invest further into US weapons, when the US have threaten to annex part of EU territory?

  • Alright buddy, you do you. I'm quite content with a small reflective star hanging out of my pocket at night. It's not an inconvenience, and I'm happy that cars can see me in the dark from a long distance away.

And don't go blame the dog. You're the one holding the leash. There are dog collars with reflective material in the collar BTW.

I don't know where you live, I can't speak for that, but I live in Sweden. It's pretty dark during winter. We get 6-7 hours of sunlight over the winter solstice.

Here, It is expected that you make sure you can be seen. That doesn't mean you need to walk around in a hi-vis vest.

  • I guarantee that those guns have metal powder in them to make them detectable.

Since all firearms owned by civilians must be detectable by metal detectors.

  • Yes. They do have responsibilities. But how can you expect anyone to stop for something they can't see?

This advice is coming from a pedestrian. Wear your reflective patch. Snap one over your arm, have one hanging out of your pocket, pin it to your coat. Whatever. Just have something on you so you can be seen if you'll be around traffic.

  • Or you know... just snap on one of these on your arm when you go out in the dark. Or have something similar dangling out of your coat pocket.

And before I'm accused of anything. I bike and walk far more than I drive.

  • As someone from Sweden. Where the dark night is very long in the winter. Do wear a reflective strap or something so cars can see you...

Wearing all black in the middle of the night and crossing the road is not a fantastic idea. I would not expect a car to see me until it's too late. Don't be an idiot. Make sure you can be seen.

Sincerely. Someone that bikes more than they drive a car

  • No, it didn't feel much different beyond that i could legally get drunk. You're still the same stupid teenager, with the difference that your actions now have potentially more severe consequences. So sometimes. It's probably a good idea to pause for 5 seconds and think about what the consequences might be. Easier said than done for sure.

I'm now 32, and the most important thing I can say is take care of your body and your body will take care of you. Work out, eat your vegetables, stretch your limbs, maintain your cardio. And the next 20 years ahead of you will be even better.

I have friends my age that move like seniors. You don't want to be like that.

  • There is a difference between colors you see from reflections, and from a direct source.

Your t-shirts is light hitting them, and reflecting back to your eye. Depending on what is reflected and what is absorbed, you will get a colour.

But that will not be the case from screens that emit their own light.
