  • Att first i thought it was just PayPal. Not great but ok. Fair enough.

But Visa and MasterCard blocking stuff is not ok. Their position is too big. And too crucial in the infrastructure.

But. A bank that can get something new rolling should profit quite well, which is a good incentive to come up with alternative

  • Leather car seats might be very appealing for those with young children, as it's far easier to clean food, drinks, and dirt, off of leather than cloth.

And yes the suppressor is pretty large. That's kind of the point, won't be much noise reduction if it's tiny.

having a suppressor on a hunting rifle isn't an "edge case". It's quite common these days. Like I said. We don't want to blow out our dogs eardrums.

All of this, just because you couldn't comprehend that suppressors have practical use, rather than your preconceived notion that they're just there to "look cool".

  • I was expecting to see it from a news article, rather than a meme.

  • Funny how it was possible to grow potatoes 200 years ago before tractors were cool.

You're not gonna take down a wild hog with a .22.

You see a term such as “Nuisance wildlife management” and think it's about shooting rats or something. If you don't know what something means, you can just ask, or google it. You don't need to guess.

The only thing you are right about is that times change. And that's a good thing. These days the availability, reliability, and quality of suppressors are really good. There is virtually no downsides to use one on a hunting rifle. Simply great for everyone.

I've stated in other comments on this post that I'm fully against semi automatic rifles. But keep making assumptions. You're doing great!

  • What transgressions? Can't say I'm particularly informed beyond knowing who he was.

  • You're doing an awful lot of projection here. You clearly just want to be angry for the sake of it.

No one has a suppressor to "sneak around" in the woods. I already explained why it's practical and useful.

I could explain to you, why "Nuisance wildlife management" is an important part of maintaining forests, so that everyone can enjoy more houses and furniture, built out of sustainable materials. Or maintaining crops so that we can all enjoy a fresh harvest of vegetables, potatoes and carrots.

But I doubt you care to broaden your horizon beyond finding new ways to be angry.

  • I'm not even sure where to begin with you. You could have learned something, added a new perspective to your view. Instead, you choose to come in here and just hurl insults.

Believe it or not. A Suppressor drastically reduces the sound of gunshots. Which is quite nice for everyone that lives within 4km of where you are shooting. Including every single animal that lives in the woods since they get, justifiably, incredibly stressed when they hear a loud gunshot.

And as a hunter, you are not allowed to hunt if you don't have access to a dog trained in tracking. Which means that most hunters have a dog, and bring them with for hunting. And if wanting to reduce the sound to better protect the dogs hearing and ensure they don't develop tinnitus. Then I'll gladly be a "half brain with a suppressor"

So no. It's not a cosplay kit. It's a consideration for wildlife, dogs, and people that live in the immediate area.

  • Payment processors, such as PayPal. Are private companies and have a wide discretion to decide who they do, and don't do business with. Just like you as a private person have a wide discretion to decide who you do, and don't do business with.

A baker has every right to refuse a customer that wants a cake with a swastika on it. So the same rules have to apply to PayPal being allowed to refuse to do business with certain industries. They are not your bank.

If, it was some "religious organization" that got their hands in PayPal. Why would they only stop authorizing payments in certain regions? Wouldn't it then be applied everywhere?

The fact that it was only in specific regions. Makes it far more likely that it's due to the legislation in those regions regarding incest. Rather than a moral decision from corporate PayPal to stop authorizing payments to Steam.

Steam did not remove every porn game. They removed those belonging to a very specific category.

  • There is a big difference between guns and guns. I don't know where you are from, but are you sure that you are not even allowed to own a hunting rifle for hunting?

I wouldn't say I have a strong opinion on guns. I suppose that might be subjective but I don't consider myself a gun-nut or anything. If you're just curious, the answer is deer and wild hog, but mostly wild hog. For one they're invasive, and secondly, I think they taste really good, so win, win. But it's a lot of work, not the shooting part, but afterwards to take care of the meat and all. You need to send it in for testing as they could have parasites that are dangerous to humans (even when cooked). I would like to hunt moose at some point but I'm not really in any rush, it's also highly regulated.

As my opinion on guns, I think they should be allowed where it's reasonable, provided the person have a valid weapon license. I see no reason for full or semi-automatic rifles in civilian hands. I'm pretty sure some semi-automatic rifles are legal. But I disagree with it. And it's possible they will ban them soon. I know it's possible to get license for pistols. But it's very rare. You are not allowed to have them for self defense.

  • I'm not missing the point where payment processor aren't police. But they still need to follow legislation in the region they operate.

First of, it's not "Point in case", it's "Case in point".

Second, I can honestly say. I have no idea how many payment processors does or does not authorize payments regarding legal porn for various websites. Feel free to link an article or source that investigates that particular topic.

If you look at the post. They claim "Possibly related to PayPal because people in certain regions have not been able to use it to pay on Steam."

If this was PayPal taking a stand on a corporate level against porn games on steam. Why would only certain regions be affected instead of everyone?

The obvious answer, is that it's only certain regions, because of their legislation. If PayPal wish to do business in their region. They have to follow their laws for those customers.

  • What I'm shooting at isn't relevant. What is relevant is that it's significantly quieter. A gunshot is quite distinctive and can be heard over several kilometers. It can cause unnecessary stress for a lot of animals who, justifiably, are terrified by the sound. A suppressor will drastically reduce the range of the sound.

Let's say I want to shoot in a new sight, or see how a new bullet flies over various distances. It is highly appreciated by everyone. Humans and animals alike, that I'm using a suppressor.

An added benefit is also that the recoil is reduced

  • I'll be the devils advocate here and say that it is so much more pleasant to shoot with a suppressor. Both for you, and everyone else around.

Personally, in this modern age. There's not a lot of reasons to NOT use one. It's not even that expensive to thread hunting rifles. I think it cost us ~150€ excluding the suppressor.

And I say this from the perspective of a licensed hunter. (And I'm not even american)

But yes. 27 of them is quite ridiculous

  • Most people never bother to read anything beyond the title of the post. Let alone click the link to the article.

Now, i don't know how everyone sees up/down votes. But I always thought that content and comments that is relevant and promotes discussion is good. And comments that aren't are bad.

Rather than a measure of others opinions.

  • Honestly. I'm glad he made the title what it is. Makes it obvious when people comment without even bother to open the article.

  • My brother in christ. Are you allergic to reading the articles you comment on?

Or are you not aware of how aging works?
