  • I only do baisc maintenance and setups for my friends now.

I've heard of beta blockers, but I've never looked into it. I'm kind of hesitant when it comes to dealing with any kind of side effects.

  • I worked at probably the best luthiery in North America. Got let go because I couldn't keep up. I have tremors which makes fine dextrous work very difficult. At the time I was also going through a brutal break-up too.

Really bad time for me. Also working at this place was like playing a couple good games of beer league hockey and immediately getting drafted into an NHL team. I feel like if I took another shot at it, it would go much better second time around. But it just wasn't meant to be at the time. No matter what, it was always going to be a massive uphill climb, but I was super dedicated to doing it and doing it well. It's unfortunate it came to such an abrupt end, but I understand why it had to happen.

  • Who is this?

  • There's plenty of fiction written on this premise. It only makes sense that an LLM will write something similar to what it's already ingested.

  • I totally understand where you're coming from but I also understand why people like the curated experience. When I went to Mexico for the first time, I went to a resort because in that moment all I cared about was not having to care about anything, if you know what I mean.

There's a time and a place for both styles of travel.

  • Not only is OP a slopper, but they can't even come up with their own OC to prompt an AI with.

    Shame.

  • I've been on Linux for a year and a half now with zero downtime.

  • That's a pretty insane threshold. I say that as a die hard underground metal fan.

  • Now THAT is some data porn.

  • I've experienced that criticism. To that I say I already know where I stand on these political issues and I'll amplify (and have amplified) voices I want amplified. Regardless of how much I filter out, the dust on the upper crust of world news still makes its way to me in some way or another so I'll always have a general idea of what's going on. I just don't need to know every tiny detail about the trillionth example of the dregs of human nature.

Living out from under that black cloud is truly liberating and I highly recommend anyone reading this to establish a filter list and block any communities that regularly kill your mood.

  • Android for sure. Thanks for the info.

  • Got any suggestions on how to set that up? I've known about RSS for a long time, I just never really understood it, I guess.

  • Its not a bad thing to close lemmy 5 mins after you open it. There's a whole world outside of the internet.

  • I purged world news from my feeds years ago. I have no idea what's going and I love it.

Here's my filter list if you want it:

israel, iran, cybertruck, north korea, tesla, israeli, russia, belarus, palestine, palestinian, trump, biden, rogan, ukraine, china, politics, democrat, republican, america, usa, government, law, war, conflict, weapon, vance, biden, harris, election, kamala, dnc, rnc, conflict, tensions, elon, musk, greene, boebert, soldier, military, bomb, attack, conflict

There's really not much that slips by this list in tandem with my community block list. Life on the internet is much more peaceful now.

  • If you're gonna be a cunt, at least be good at it. This is some bush league shit.

  • That's really sweet. :)

I'm not a programmer or anything so I have no experience with scripting at all. My job is supporting customers and their business phones. The script allows me to take a bunch of info from these dense readouts from the system and filter out only the relevant details so that if I need to ask another team for help I don't have to copy/paste and format a bunch of different stuff manually. It just spits out the info I need from a bulk of mostly needless info.

It's already saving me time so I'm glad I decided to just dive into this scripting stuff head first.

  • I wrote my first ever bash script to make my job less tedious and I'm happy. :) Time to refine and expand it now!

  • 100% agreed. I used to hate the heat. Now I run in 30°C and, while running in that heat is miserable, I find it way more tolerable when I'm just out and about.

  • That song is amazing!
