  • I'm working on gathering as many old automod answers as possible to make them available here too. Some of them (like the vaush fact ones) are a bit harder to gather because they were randomised replies, but this is the list of all the old automod commands that were available on Reddit:

    • !trotbot - Summons the anti trot bot.
    • !parenti - Summons a random Michael Parenti quote.
    • !mac - Summons the automod response on MAC.
    • !getinvolved - Summons a short info sheet on organizing.
    • !ergodecedo - Summons a short response on ergo decedo.
    • !holodomor - Summons a link to the wiki entry for holodomor.
    • !imperialism - Summons a link to the wiki entry for imperialism.
    • !fascism - Summons a link to the wiki entry for fascism.

    • !class - Summons a link to the wiki entry for class conflict.
    • !revisionism - Summons a link to the wiki entry for revisionism.

Conversations about China are something else

  • Oh wow, that's quite the difference in views! I'm guessing people are much more familiar with their individual videos than they are with their podcast (this was actually an inside joke in the sub too lol) so they look for their individual pages directly.

It's not a bad idea at all to have a quick list of topics for the podcast episodes! But it would indeed be a bit more work, so I might have to wait to do that when I have a little more time.

Of course haha there are definitely far too many pages for a single person to know! Maybe at this point I could post directly on c/Prolewiki to ask the editors for their feedback.

I will keep thinking about this over the next days then and will remember your kind offer

  • "In capitalist America they revoke your passport if you don't cry for fascists"

  • The Deprogram Podcast @lemmygrad.ml

    German gymnastics

  • I appreciated the detailed reply:) I was thinking about what you said and indeed having too many pages about the same topic would likely only add unnecessary confusion and it may not make much sense in the context of an online encyclopedia.

But I was also thinking about the main goal of the deprogram wiki, which would be sort of a short list of bullet points and online videos/resources to use as a starting point for people who might be just beginning to deprogram themselves (or people who maybe have only listened to the podcast or watched a couple of videos from the trio).

I saw the ProleWiki absolute beginner reading list and it gave me the idea for this: since the main page of the deprogram is about the official podcast itself, I'm unsure whether it would make sense to add our unofficial wiki right there. But we could absolutely link it there for people to find.

From that hypothetical landing page (that might resemble something similar to the guide to organizing ), we could then link to the Main pages, where we can incorporate the information and links from the old deprogram wiki.

Would that make sense in the broader context of ProleWiki? What is your opinion on this?

That one time the CIA (allegedly) coup'd the Australian government

  • I also linked the Wiki and study guide in the sidebar for easy access

  • Thank you for the offer of the raw markdown files. Good question! I checked the page of the Deprogram podcast on Prolewiki and I saw that now users can make smaller edits without being an editor. However I'm unsure if it's the same for larger edits 🤔

Maybe we can ask @CriticalResist8@lemmygrad.ml or check with the editors over at c/Prolewiki for their opinions on how to proceed

  • It has its own vibe

  • Your help and past efforts are extremely appreciated and helpful right now, thank you!

In the following days I will make sure to add and link everything you've backed up in a way that makes it easy to find

  • Yugopnik had this to say

Additionally, I know JT/Second Thought actually did an AMA on Hexbear some years ago. So they are aware of both the situation with Reddit and with the Lemmyverse as a whole.

Here is the AMA with JT

  • Excellent addition!

To expand a bit on this: just like the main 3 leftist Instances I mentioned before (Lemmy.ml, Lemmygrad.ml and Hexbear.net), there are also many different Instances here on Lemmy (such as lemmy.today and lemmy.world).

However, none of those other Instances are openly Marxist/Leftist. In some cases, some of the users from those other Instances can be openly hostile to leftist users because...they're deeply unserious libs or reactionaries in general lol.

But fear not! First of all, because the mods are here precisely to make sure those unserious users don't cause drama in our community. But also, because a few of those leftist Instances (Lemmygrad.ml and Hexbear.net to be specific) have defederated from those more reactionary Instances.

Defederation is simply the process by which a specific (and reactionary) Instance is no longer allowed to interact with/share content with other leftist instances across Lemmy.
