  • Your world view seems to be highly influenced by propaganda. A country ruled by two identical genocidal capitalist parties isn't a "democracy"; it's a capitalist dictatorship.

Any party genuinely wanting to advance working class causes will not be allowed to come to power through it (they won't be funded by the capitalist backers that fund/control the two ruling parties to begin with), and anyone in power that happens to hurt the country's imperial prowess will be disposed of by the ruling parties, the way JFK was assassinated for wanting to abolish the CIA and reducing US troops in the Middle East.

  • More of a symbolic gesture than anything; there aren't any plans for an actual BRICS currency. I don't think that would do much yet in the current US-led global financial landscape.

  • Very nice to see. Both countries benefit from not wasting resources on this so hopefully this lasts.

  • That's why the "should be" I guess, though that's not to say there aren't idiots (right in this thread too) actually shilling for this.

If current open source licenses still have flaws like this, we're gonna need new ones.

  • Yeah I'm sure the maintainers are in talks with Putin directly

  • Your first mistake was expecting libs to have a thought process

  • This sets such a bad precedent...

  • Yeah the kernel might end up being forked if this shit keeps going. Sanctions affecting open source software like this was not something I expected...

  • Free as in... obeys US foreign policy

  • Shouldnt you be on the ukraine front lines with your fellow nazis?

  • Least racist corporate shill

  • ? Do you disagree? Isn't blaming leftists what blue maga is currently priming their voters for if/when they lose?

  • Libs will still blame leftists like blue maga wants them to.

  • Just in time for the BRICS summit. Hopefully relations between the two can soften up soon.

  • Lemmy.ml will have around 1-2 hours of downtime tomorrow, Friday at 1430 CEST.

    Jump
  • Best way to decentralize users more would probably be to make your own instance. .world is certainly centralizing Lemmy's userbase too much right now.

  • Not communist obviously, since there's still very much a state and class division. But socialist because the state primarily serves the workers, with the stated goal of striving towards communism.

Now whether it'll stay that way or not, we'll see. Deng's reforms have given liberals too much power after all; there seems to be an active class war happening in the Chinese state.

  • The Soviet-funded PFLP was the largest Palestinian resistance organization until capitalists overthrew the USSR and they had no reason to fund socialist movements anymore.

Their book Strategy For The Liberation Of Palestine from 1969 is a great read and still very relevant today.
