Didn't we all see this coming? Porn deepfakes were already a thing, and even before generative AI we already had people photoshop women in explicit situations.
I'd even say that right now we have much better tools to deal with the fakes than before AI, and all that is required is legislative action.
The tech is already capable of doing automatic facial recognition at scale and we could give victims the tools to automatically send take-down notices and have them enforced.
I already got functional laptops (an Alienware M15 r3 and a very recent HP Pavilion) but none of them come close to my Thinkpad T480 in terms of comfort of use, the overall build quality and the damn awesome keyboard.
Too bad that all (?) recent Thinkpads now have soldered RAM.
I can confirm that in the attached video they're saying in Arabic "A-shaab yurid isqa't Hamas" which literally means "the people want to overthrow Hamas" (Google Translate link for the skeptics: الشعب يريد إسقاط حماس ). Way to go ✊
Thank you! I thought they were talking about the Play Services and I was like "why isn't the version numbering the same 🤨". So yeah, same for me, no issues with the Jan 2024 version.
Very weird way of launching it indeed, maybe Google wants to push the 128GB version first as the limited storage would push users to subscribe to their cloud offering. That or they probably have a supply issue for the storage.
What version is the January 2024 update? I have the 24.02.13 on GrapheneOS but I'm not sure if it's the one that the different articles are talking about.
I don't get people buying HP printers either. They did make really good printers 2~3 decades ago (absolutely loved my Deskjet 695C and the cartridges weren't really hard to refill), but recently their printers are nothing more than e-waste.
Today you should just get a Brother laser printer.
