  • Sounds like a $1.6 million dollar refund would be appropriate.

  • Human population is 9.4T? Yup, I'll trust this website completely. /s

  • But they didn't have TV back then. How could he have developed ADHD? /s

  • Probably because older phones are in maintance mode for the OS. Adding new features always carries some complexity and testing all models takes time. Limit the models to test to only the more recent ones and you save money.

That said, it would be so nice to have a more open system where I can decide that if that goes on my phone myself.

  • I think I'm just gonna block the word Hoekstra. Nothing good or worthy of attention is attached to that name.

  • Just wait for the repost!

  • Oh shit, that's huge!

Edit: just read a bit of the article. Calender and address book still coming. So nothing really changes since I was using IMAP because. Maybe it'll be a bit faster?

  • Ok, I'll give it a shot creating some more posts. I didn't want to start putting a lot of effort into the community if I just had to move it.

  • I tried creating a community on piefed.ca and subscribed using a lemmy.ca account and a reddthat.com account. Neither of those alt accounts on lemmy are able to see the one post in the community although they are subscribed and show up in the subscribers list.

Anybody know why this is? Should I move my community to lemmy instead of piefed?

  • And they don't stop coming is my favourite version of this song! The pitch correction and leaving the rest of the instruments really enhances what could have been a dumb loop.

  • Did you read all of that? I can't find any verdicts except for some (all?) of the plaintiffs being dismissed without prejudice. So many of the documents are sealed.

  • We Regret To Inform You also did a great podcast on the subject, but started with the story of Bobbi Gibb who was the first woman to run the entire Boston Marathon, but couldn't register for it because "women can't run the length of a marathon" or something like that.

  • And yet they have $1,000,000,000,000 to pay their CEO.

(Yes, caveat of performance goals being met, but it's still insane)

  • All I got right now is this box of one dozen starving crazed weasels.

  • Maybe you're thinking of The Wheel of Time?

  • I've got a bunch of CBC podcasts that I love.

Under the Influence has great storytelling and talks a lot about the history of marketing in very interesting ways.

We Regret to Inform You is by the same people and talks about the hardships some people have had to go through before making it big. I really only listen to episodes about people I already know about though.

The Debaters is a great comedy podcast. I also listen to Laugh out Loud and have been caught laughing my head off in the middle of the dog park.

Backstage at the Vinyl Cafe is going through Stuart McLean's Vinyl Cafe stories and adding a bit of background about each story. I thought I'd skip the background stuff, but it's actually not bad to listen to. Stuart McLean was such an amazing story teller and I always love hearing these stories about Canada.

Quirks and Quarks is a great science podcast although I kicked it off my list for a while until I can clear my other backlog.

One US based podcast I would still recommend (They're not political, but still not pro Trump) is Go Fact Yourself. Great podcast in a trivia game show format. The central idea is really cool. Pick 3 topics outside your field of work that you're an expert in. They then quiz you on one of those three topics with a special guest expert in the topic who comes on at the end. And the people they get are absolutely amazing! They had Walter Koenig on as an expert, and then he liked the show so much he came back as a player.
