  • If he were a normal president who cared about Congress and the future of his party in fair and free elections this would matter a lot. Unfortunately he isn't and his plan is to make certain there aren't any free and fair elections, so we'll see what happens.

  • The State Department handles diplomacy. I would expect that the intention is for US diplomats (however many are left after all this) to drive around in these things. I'm sure that will help convince other countries that the US is not at all stupidly corrupt.

  • Agreed.

Cybertruck owners, though, they're a different story.

  • "That's too insane for him to actually do" is exactly the sort of complacency that got us into this mess.

  • There's a simple explanation for that: they're more committed to fascism than to their own self-interests.

  • It's important to remember that the only reason he can get away with everything is because lots of other powerful people are going along with it.

  • It's pretty impressive just how thorough Trump and Elon are being about destroying every single thing that used to be good about the USA.

  • I'm hoping that Vance won't be able to hold MAGA together. The thing about cults of personality is that when the dear leader is gone they tend to fall apart. Fingers crossed.

  • They thought the leopard would eat other people's faces and not theirs. Remember that one lady from his first term? "He's not hurting the right people." That quote tells you everything you need to know about his voters.

  • Wait, fallout 4 didn't do the ending slideshow? That's an iconic part of the series! I'm so glad I stopped buying Bethesda games.

  • The YouTube channel Throttle House did a road trip with the cybertruck and they found that a lot of people actually were curious about it.

For all it's flaws, you can't deny it looks different from all the other cars around, and most people aren't online enough to have an opinion about Musk and his bullshit, so to them it's just an interesting looking car.

  • Except that they love policies that only benefit rich people who don't care about them.

  • It's not hypocrisy when you understand that "waste" is conservative for "helps the poor and/or minorities"

  • As the article says, there are typically a few cases a year in the US. It's actually endemic in the wild. No need to panic just from a case or two popping up.

  • No it isn't. The Democrats haven't had their convention yet.

  • What the fuck? Why would you do that!?

  • Putin thought he could defeat Ukraine in three days, and the result is two years and plus of war, tens of thousands of casualties that he will admit to, and US-made weapons now being fired into Russia. I don't see him being the kind of 4D Chessmaster you seem to think he is.

  • At this point Putin's goal is pure personal survival. He needs to not lose the war because that would make him look weak, which is very dangerous for a dictator. To keep himself alive and in power he is willing to throw any amount of Russian soldiers into the meat grinder.

  • All South Korean male citizens are required to perform 18-21 months of military service.
