  • FWIW, I think the term "echo-chamber" is way overused, almost to the point of being meaningless. I also don't believe in the sincerity and coherence of American-style conceptions of "free speech".

    "Fediverse shouldn't allow convervatives communities" is nuts though. This is not workable from a practical perspective (forget the moral questions for a second).

    Racism, overt dehumanisation, denial of widely accepted mass scale human rights abuses; that's something that can be managed from a moderation standpoint. But this would impact groups across the political spectrum (nazies, tankies, some far right, some far left).

    I likely have an even more cynical take on American "conservatives" than those who are often labelled woke (and paradoxically I don't always agree with), yet I don't see the big deal with having a conservative community/instance or whatever.

    I mean, Lemmy is rife with tankies; it doesn't get much worse than that.

    I occasionally cross-post relevant content and sometimes I can't see my own posts. .

    Admin said he is working on it (I created a thread stating that the contact form didn't work and there were issues with federation).

  • Tycoon community seems to have hit a brick wall in terms of new subscribers. User engagement is still low, but that's to be expected.

    I think that the total threadiverse size (45K MAU) essentially puts a limit for such a relatively niche gaming community.

  • Need to try this one. I really enjoyed Settlers 2 back in the day.

    I tried playing it again recently. Normally, I am decent at dealing with older interfaces, but for some reason something bugged me about Settlers 2 on a high resolution monitor.

  • Assange doesn't care about victims of US imperialism. It's all grandstanding and attempts to manipulate useful idiot types. He didn't even bother to remove PII of people under risk during his "disclosures".

    US does a lot of bad things, but they are not fundamentally evil.

    Everything done by the Russians has always been about killing, torture and genocide.

    Show me one example of russians doing something positive. Even WW2 that they fetishize, they originally collaborated with the Nazis to split up Europe.
