  • Reddit was full of bots but the people are just savvy enough to make an account. Lemmy's users are not a general representation of the public, but more of the technical kind. You can probably describe most users just by the most popular posts and interactions here. So...

Male Atheist Liberal In their late 20s but majority in their 30s, with a large amount of trekkies in their 40s for some reason. Pc technical, can use a pc well enough to understand above the basic concepts of the best buy laptop the general public use. Too involved in the world affairs causing rigid pessism of most people who don't share their views. If you don't think like us you're one of "them".

Oh and anonymous keyboard warriors. Everyone can be a "professional" on a subject if they can dissect a comment someone made and Google any relevant information to refute their arguments. It's pretty much this that makes them ruder.

  • That's not very Christian of them.

  • Locked up forever sounds a lot like the death penalty.

  • Yes it literally has the update notes in fdroid saying they updated their browser integration to comply with Google services. It was most likely an abrupt code and compliance issue generated automatically.

  • My wife has ADHD as well as myself. How often I'm trying to make a point by starting off on points that lead to that point, and she makes the point for me, conducts a counter argument, and wastes 30 seconds of me back pedaling to say that's not at all what I'm trying to get at.

  • Quantity of of someone's opinion doesn't make it truth. My area is fine. I don't have hundreds of tiktokers complaining about our community. And if they are, they're yelling into thin air without any foundational issues.

Take what you see online with a grain of salt. Social media isn't your source of accurate information. It's how conspiracies start.

  • Do you believe unverified platformers and anecdotal scenarios experienced by specific people speaking of a problem as fact and accurate?

If I got on tiktok and spewed nonsensical problems and attributed them to a rat outbreak that may or may not exist, will that become truth? How many viewers will I need for it to become truth?

  • I mean will it matter? If he loses a little it'll be "rigged to sway a small amount of votes" if he loses by a lot "it's so rigged they aren't even trying to make it look close!"

  • It's the point 6 where I think you might be deadly wrong. I hope you're not. But they're a lot more prepared this time, with judges in position to create enough scrutiny to question the election results, long enough to cause a lot of people who care get their beliefs reinforced that the country is lost to cheaters, and are ready to do a lot more than Jan 6.

  • Unfortunately celebrity worship is influence, and influence is the key in elections. No influence, no vote. It is power. And the amount of influential power Taylor swift has is absolutely staggering. I wouldn't be surprised if her endorsing kamala brings in tens if not hundreds of thousands of voters to register.

  • They definitely can. It's been off putting lately that the left has a check list that I have to hit every mark on to not be seen as a right winger.

There are leftist who are Christian. There are leftists who are against abortion, but understand that education and reproductive health (including allowing abortions) is an important and productive way to reduce abortions, instead of bans. There are leftists who are still traditional, holding morals and ethics that aren't fluid but also not rigid.

No one is truly happy about their political choices. Except for the insane 1/3 of Americans on the Maga train maybe.

  • Maybe. Who am I to judge.

  • Clever.

  • Are we just making up words now?

  • Salmon

  • Oh I was confused on how kamala was going to debate trump in June. It's clear BIDEN was to debate in June, and did, and that was ultimately the event that led to him stepping down. So kamala takes over the September 10th debate.

  • June 27th?

  • I think there's more in the second panel for me. The conversation can continue and I'm still battling trying to retcon my introduction somehow because who tf says howdy. It derails my focus for the next minute of conversation. But I'm also paying attention so everything added to the conversation is piled on top of that and how I respond next needs to fit the flow of conversation and if I want to fix the weirdness of how I introduced myself...

  • Oh no worries. I misunderstood you.
