    Does Stalinism exist?

    Jump
  • One run-on paragraph that relies on antiquated academic jargon does not accomplish much of anything.

Though I do agree: Stalinism is just a personality cult that justifies every single decision one "Great Man" made. Stalinism is the assertion that the "Man of Steel" never made a mistake.

This is a weird camp within outdated Leninism, incapable of standing on its own merits as a coherent idea.

No MLM worth listening to will claim the "Four Pests" campaign was anything but a disaster. So Mao and the Nation Learned. This took honesty, and an actual connection to the people.

Do not worship "perfect" dead leaders. Learn from the example of imperfect people getting better. Learn how we do better by listening. The earlier we listen the better we do.

  • Let's Assume that Marxism-Leninism is a Science, as is popularly understood among Marxist-Leninists.

Why are you working from 70+ year old Science? We have more recent, more effective ways. Embrace Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, and the more recent developments within, at the very least.

For the love of all that anyone finds holy, quit arguing that "Stalin was right" to people so propagandized their average reading level is 6th grade or less.

Quit telling people what to think, instead teach how to think critically.

And that means building power starts by asking a community what they need, not dictating to them like a fucking Trot. Especially when its about things that don't make a single sandwich for the community.

This is the reason his Marxist contemporaries described Mao as an "Anarchist" - he learned to consider the consent of the Masses. He formalized it into the organizing strategy.

Do you not like consent? Do you not consider it outside of propaganda efforts?

  • ITT: My fellow Americans are outing themselves.

Its okay, we're all allowed to learn. Just for the love of all that anyone finds holy, PLEASE learn. Learn something.

  • Gentoo and Arch are built to be infinitely mod-able.

Writing a patch for a thing you use at home, and wanna share it with the world? Gentoo even makes that easier. Arch stepped away from that to rely on precompiled binaries for simplicity and efficiency's sake, but it's still available through the ABS and AUR with some extra steps.

Nix and Guix? I'm afraid of the dependency-redundancy involved, but organizational deployments seem like the right place for that.

Serious development without requiring a dedicated machine, where all deps are accounted for? Yeah, Nix/Guix will help quite a bit. Rapid, flexible deployment of something customized and virtualized? There too, Nix/Guix.

Need some containerization or Virtualization? Gentoo or Arch already has your back. And if that's your primary usecase, you may prefer Qubes to anything we've already discussed. Then again... Gentoo could use a Qubes-porting repo maintainer.

  • I wish it were that simple. But they passed that budget for ICE already, which funds them all year.

Things that help people? Yeah, those are what's gone.

  • There is that potential, depending on your build.

Makes me wanna DM again. An all warlock party where nobody knows that anyone else is a warlock would be the silliest sort of fun 😁🤔😇

Plot twist - the BBEG Is everyone's Patron, though they all use different subclasses and other DM "gifts" to mask as another class.

  • Sounds like a LN Sorcerer to me.

  • I thought SteamOS was already out

  • *incel-lerationists

    Fixed that for us all.

  • I declare myself a refugee. Can I get healthcare?

  • Me and the Union guys can renovate that office building into apartments, with a hydroponics farm in the basement, space for a doctor's office, maybe a makerspace and a few resident-centric server racks.

They've got... Dustbowls incoming and ammo stockpikes that may or may not wither during one hunting season or another.

  • Except we're talking about the homeless. And that's not just veterans.

  • Easy to say when you have choices in where to shop. Lack of transportation and odd work schedules destroy that Real Quick. As does rural life, or life in an urban food desert.

There is more to poverty than lack of money - there is also frequently a lack of time away from work for serious food preparation. And idk if you've looked at vegan processed food lately but uh... The opposite holds true about their price.

No one can survive on crock pot beans alone.

Once again, 100 companies are responsible for how much of the emissions? Your consumer choices are not a Revolution that will save the world. Consumer choice is a poor substitute for activism that has been sold to you by your Masters.

  • Most serious vegans understand something about the differential in agency that comes with even relative poverty. The books that sort of founded the movement take this into account.

And there is a LOT of relative poverty in places you don't normally expect, especially with housing costs as they are around most of the Capitalist world.

  • Cartridges with "transgender and anti-fascist" writing on them were found.

    • source: *Steven Crowder Matt Walsh has a "guy inside the FBI". Effectively a "trust me bro" pseudo-fact.

Edit: I can't tell right wingers apart

  • As a Qubes user, do I span the entire graph?

  • Age Verification.
