I'm running jellyfin, can't recommend it enough. It's been catching up quite steadily to Plex and I still control everything. Can't complain about that.
Normal is overrated, just find things that are comfortable for you. I wanted to change the world in my teens, now I'm just happy to have (just barely) managed to buy a house. If you can't accomplish dreams it's okay to work on stability in which to enjoy hobbies instead.
