  • Yeah, I’m tired of begging the question, we have evil people who live among us. Call them out.

  • Whatever libtard, they both posses a Nobel peace prize.

  • Why doesn’t anyone see this for what it is. They put monitoring for certain keywords but fucked up the code and it blocked some users through incompetence. They fixed the filters, but I guarantee they are sending reports to the White House…

  • What got us here is a complicated but simple story. Those without morals have no problem cheating the system and using other people. Capitalism rewards this behavior so it as inevitable that the unscrupulous will continue to vacuum up the money and power. We are experiencing the end game of this social construct.

  • I figure by then, it will all be part of some AI training set one day. Hopefully my shitty writing and bad opinions poison the shit out of it.

  • Ok seriously, why does immigration and customs enforcement have any security role dealing with the president and vice president? They are not law enforcement, they are fancy border guards.

The answer of course is that these fuckers took a smaller, already aggressive force and funded it to the fucking moon. It’s their secret police now, clearly after MPLS it’s obvious.

really is the modern gestapo sa.

Edit- corrected. Meant it more in the colloquial sense but I’m always in favor of accuracy.

  • Fuck it, just leave his corpse to rot in the rubble of the white house. Just leave him there when he keels over from whatever it is they are covering up.

  • Wish I had more upvotes to give, spot on.

  • Yeah, but I know some pretty smart dumb people and some pretty dumb smart people. I don’t think it’s IQ thing, at least alone (don’t event really buy the whole IQ thing).

  • I’m sure it works great but it’s like curing a toothache by breaking another one out on the other side of your mouth. My problem with windows isn’t how difficult to use it is, it’s how restricted and how connected it must be. I don’t have full control of the system and I’m required to have external accounts for it to work. Same with chrome.

My data is mine, I don’t want it accessed, owned and controlled by a faceless internet corporation.

So, professionally I do not care what system I am expected to use, they are all functional. If the person signing my paycheck is comfortable with it, so be it (in fact, I’m a big proponent of externalizing risk in a corporate setting). Personally though, I’ll keep up my greybeard routine :).

  • I like it, do it! Have you read Altered Carbon? Has some similar themes. I loved the book, might be some good inspiration. I’ll read yours when it’s out, love that genre :).

  • The rich are the problem, something needs to be done about them. I’m hungry.

Edit- ugh, embarrassing misspelling left up too long.

  • Honestly, I hope you are right. At the moment though, I have very little faith in the American electorate.

  • People want concrete policy, economic fixes, and the end of culture war shit.

This is your conclusion after the fucking country elected that fucker? No, Americans don’t give a shit about any of that. People on Lemmy want that.

Americans want shit flinging, grudge based, reality show style fights. I don’t know that Kelly is enough of an asshole to be honest.

  • No shit?

  • No idea what to say about this, or what it even is. But I’m sorry to hear it. I had a very similar situation as a kid, multiple divorces, used as a pawn in their fight over money. It’s rough, but I learned from their mistakes and have a strong marriage that works.

  • The last couple years have convinced me that we are deep into a kakistocracy, everywhere, government, business, finance.. Everyone in power is just monumentally stupid. Perhaps they are just insulated since they have all the fucking money and do not have to inhabit the same reality the rest of us do.

These easily impressed, shallow thinkers control everything.

  • Nah, been great, getting married was the smartest thing I’ve ever done.
