If you were otherwise dirt poor and you had the opportunity to become rich beyond your dreams selling something that to you is essentially free you wouldn't do it?
It's really easy to be moral from your armchair at home.
I'm not saying that makes it OK, but it's a real moral dilemma and we live in the real world. The UAE not selling oil wouldn't lower the demand for it, they'd still have been flooded, just with no oil money to help fix anything afterwards.
I was rather annoyed about losing the headphone jack but now I don't have one I honestly don't miss it.
You can get a decent midrange set of wireless headphones for £30ish, the sound quality is indistinguishable from wired and I no longer have wires tying themselves in to bird's nests or getting caught in things. I have an over ear pair and the battery lasts for ages.
Inb4, if you're a audio engineer you can probably tell the difference but to an average listener the experience is the same, a lot of people like to kid themselves that the difference in sound quality is really noticeable
I didn't say it's not real. I was just implying that "everything bad is long COVID" is hysteria and that we shouldn't over react until we have the science that explains the phenomenon.
OP is not bothered by the downvotes, they are bothered that they are being used as nothing more than a "I personally disagree" or "I don't like your opinion" button and that the vast majority downvoters are too cowardly to put forward their own counter opinion.
Any comment that is making an honest contribution to the discussion shouldn't be getting downvotes. When comments are downvoted for no legitimate reason, the website becomes at risk of being an echo chamber.
I respect your opinion and thank you for tackling my point of view head on, rather than just picking the bones out of semantics the way that some others in this thread have.
I was just using hunting as an example as a way that a man could provide for a woman that wanted to raise children in prehistoric times, the accuracy of which is entirely irrelevant to the point I'm trying to make. I'm really not interested in challenging the traditional view, it was merely an example to help you understand how women evolved with a tendency to prefer men with a high, or at least stable economic status and why men evolved to want to have that economic status. Just in the same way that I was using the example of a man being able to own a home and support an entire family just a few decades ago to show how much less work pays today.
The semantics of this debate and how far off track it has gone, when I was just trying to make a point about how work doesn't pay as much as it used to is mind boggling.
