I've never heard this opinion before. My feeling is that it's sloppy not to (selectively) annotate your code with TODO comments linking to the issue tracker. Code doesn't live in a vacuum; there's context that is sometimes infeasible to provide without linking out.
Maybe 15 years ago, I had a JavaScript snippet that constructed my email address and inserted it onto a page. I bet that's useless nowadays because the bots run Chrome headless or something.
Or maybe it's virtue signaling to peers/investors rather than punching down for the sake of agitating the poors. Regardless, it's definitely somewhere between sociopathic and malicious.
Sorry to be crass, but fuck that. Is anyone excited about the generic geriatric white male candidate? Tons of people love AOC and Bernie, too, for that matter. I think we need a candidate that actually inspires people. Someone that people want to vote for, volunteer for, canvas for, etc. Maybe I'm just a dreamer, though.
