Perturbed look from an Eastern Screech Owl.

When an owl patient is healthy enough, our Raptor Clinic will move the owl from the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) into a mew (outdoor flight cage). The mews have owl boxes so that the owls can have a secure place to relax when needed.

Eastern Screech Owls are crepuscular (most active at dawn and dusk) and will often go into an owl box during the day to sleep.

This gorgeous red-morph Eastern Screech Owl looked annoyed when we did a check in the owl box. Okay, go back to sleep.
