I had no idea that the suckless website had a systemd section lol
I think systemd like it was 5 years ago was kinda decent but recently using mainly openrc, it seems that with being too big, too many issues is happening and systemd devs don’t seem to keep up with the pace, I tried on Arch but too many issues in comparison with Artix, the need to mess with systemd config to prevent getting stuck on boot or shutdown
One recent example was the plasma session that is tied to systemd now on Arch and becomes a mess if I want to try out something like plasma with marco or xfwm, on OpenRC works fine the traditional method, plasma is cool but kwin with old hardware doesn’t work really well, lacking hardware acceleration and some other issues
Another problem that I had was intel issues that can hang the kernel by using specific versions and sometimes trying RC kernels but when trying to look that journald, simply doesn’t show any issue but just using openrc + dmesg, I knew that was the CPU was hanging in specific versions and got worse with hyper-threading
