It is one good thing that somehow survived 90’s chaos - public transport.
One year pass for all ČD trains cost about 900 €/year; most cities have year pass under 200€.
Just make trains even vaguely affordable would be a good start.

I’m about to drive 220 miles to an airport, get a hotel, pick someone up, then drive 220 miles back. It’s cheaper than a train ticket one-way. It’s insane.
