This is me. I got a bag of old weed from a friend who had stopped smoking years ago. I had never smoked a blunt in my life, and wasn’t a regular smoker either. So I did what any reasonable person would do abd turned it into a science experiment.

It was the late nineties and info on such matters freely flowed on the net. After some research, I decided to first produce hash oil, then make cookies from that. The process involved a lot of acetone and was pretty scary, and I would not try that again. I got some fine looking resin, and made the cookies. Then I tried one, and waited. Now, remember the guy who gave the weed to me said it was ages old and probably lost its effect. So I did what any reasonable person would do, and ate all of the cookies. You know, to make sure Id get at least some experience out if it.

The experience then started and lasted some 16 hours or so. It was weird seeing these strange cartoons play out before my eyes with them being fully open, and it was scary seeing my lungs pump air a few feet outside of my body, but other then that , it was quite an adventure. One I never repeated.

Or my experience: exist in semi-conscious state for 10 hours seeing nothing but acid-etched still images while praying I’m not the first Marijuana overdose death.

As opposed to the sixties when there was still a stigma around the Internet, so people didn’t use it as much. : D

I literally laughed out loud. Well, not too audibly, but still. Forcibly exhaled, let’s say.

  • The edibles from the dispensary are too weak. I can eat the entire bag/brownie/cupcakes and not feel even a little stoned. I want shit as strong as the quarter sized snickerdoodles a friend of mine used to make. One of those and you’re gonna be gone the rest of the day.

Ahh, so you make yours the way I used to. An entire oz of good good from the dude 3 doors over, made into cannabutter, then made into a single batch of brownies.

Blackout brownies was such a good week.

I’ve been experimenting earlier this year. It takes 45 to 50mn for it to take effect, the high is amazing and lasts for about six hours. It’s also kind to my lungs

45 to 50 min is a good rule of thumb, but it depends on your metabolism and what you’ve eaten recently. To anyone reading, know yourself and know your substance.

Last cake I baked I completely eyeballed it. I ground a few buds in the oven and simmered them into butter for a while, pressed them through some gauze and added the result (a very green butter) to my cake mix. I tried to dose it by making the cake the equivalent of, say, ten joints.

I have the most boring “this edible ain’t shit” story. Tried a bunch, and it knocked me off to sleep for a good 10 hours. I think they had a lot of CBD in them. They were sold as sativa. While research says there’s no difference between that and indica, I suspect things labeled as one or the other tend to have other things in them, like CBD, which makes them live up to their reputation. There probably is no difference when you prepare them all the same under lab conditions.

Don’t start like that. Do your research, and start with a low dose and work your way up.

Later, on stuff labeled indica, I started having light forms of ego death. Not the melting into the universe that you might get from proper hallucinogens, but more like a feeling of becoming part of my environment. My tolerance levels are too high now to get that sort of thing, though.

Eating it when I had zero tolerance was cool for a while. When I am smoking regularly though, I either don’t feel it or I take too much and feel awful.
