We’ve actually done pretty well on these. Regulations to limit sulfur emissions have curbed acid rain, and banning certain chlorofluorocarbons has allowed the hole in the ozone layer to heal. Environmental legislation can be very effective when implemented.
Of course, now we have to keep them implemented…
