Lmao. I think the only reason I was a swamp kid growing up (like literally would go swimming in a bog) is that I’m in a cold part where there’s not much living.
Now that I’ve been down to the southern swamps and marshes a few times - I’m in awe of the folks that recreate out there. It looks cool AF, but I prefer no reptiles (or at least turtles smaller than a wheel) - went to the ‘Deep Hole’ in Myakka State Park in Florida and was way too aware of my position on the food chain haha
My nightmares about warm freshwater bodies isn’t crocodiles and anacondas eating me nor turtles chomping off a toe but rather brain eating amoebas and those brazilian fishes that get inside your urethra
