A picket against rising prices for essential products and medicines was held on Pimenov Square. The Communists propose setting a maximum trade markup of 10%. This is one of the points of the People’s Referendum of the CPRF

As the first secretary of the Novosibirsk regional committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Anatoly Lokot, noted, with the rise in prices in the country, a critical situation has arisen that is felt by all residents.

  • Everyone who runs a household faces the constant rise in prices for food products. In the summer, a decrease in prices for vegetables is traditionally expected, but this does not happen. Moreover, there is an abnormal surge in prices for potatoes. There is a feeling of artificial shortage. This causes bewilderment: “What, we don’t have potatoes?” - emphasized Anatoly Lokot.

The rise in price concerns not only vegetables, but also milk, meat, and bread. The rise in prices is felt especially acutely by motorists – gasoline continues to rise in price.

  • Today in Novosibirsk, 95th gasoline is no longer available for less than 60 rubles per liter, and at some gas stations it reaches 62 rubles. Such price hikes hit the budget of every family, exacerbating social problems. Our task is not just to draw attention to these issues, but to conduct systematic, rhythmic work. Even in a market economy, there are mechanisms for containing prices, and the key one is ensuring a sufficient volume of goods on the domestic market, - Anatoly Lokot specified.

According to him, the situation with fuel prices looks especially strange, given that Russia is one of the world’s largest exporters of petroleum products. With a decrease in external demand, as well as the introduction of restrictive measures, it is logical to expect an increase in supply within the country and, as a result, stabilization of prices. However, so far, the opposite trends have been observed:

  • The problem requires deep analysis and systemic solutions. We intend not only to record violations, but to consistently achieve changes, because pricing policy issues concern every resident of the Novosibirsk Region and all of Russia.

According to official data alone, the inflation rate in Russia has reached 9-9.5%. In 2024, basic products have become many times more expensive: potatoes, eggs, onions, butter. This is only a small part of the overall list. A similar situation is observed in the pharmaceutical sector.

  • Every trip to the store becomes a serious blow to the budget of citizens. But the root of the problem is not in the cost of production, but in the inflated markups of retail chains. The excessive greed of retail business owners provokes an unjustified increase in prices, sometimes reaching the point of absurdity, - notes assistant to State Duma deputy Anton Pashchenko.

The only effective solution to this problem remains government regulation of prices, he notes. It is necessary for the government to guarantee the availability of essential goods at a fair price for all citizens.

The chairperson of the regional branch of the All-Russian Women’s Union “Hope of Russia” Oksana Koryakina, by virtue of her work, holds many meetings with women and large families, including those with children with disabilities.

  • The main problem is wages, which are now catastrophically insufficient even for food. A person receives money, goes into a store and stands there wondering: what to buy? After all, even essential goods - milk, bread and other basic goods - have become much more expensive. The cost of the minimum food basket has increased approximately fivefold, - the head of the regional branch of the VZhS notes.

In addition, Oksana Koryakina notes, housing and communal services tariffs are rising, and people do not have enough money to live.

– It is a shame that in such a rich country with large reserves of oil and gas, citizens are forced to live in poverty. Students do not receive decent stipends, pensioners do not receive normal pensions. We, communists, have always been and remain with the people – in any weather, in rain, snow or sun. We have stood, stand and will stand for the rights of the people! The CPRF is the party of victory, and we will definitely win. The voice of the people will be heard! – Oksana Koryakina is sure.

Secretary of the Novosibirsk Regional Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Novosibirsk Region Roman Yakovlev notes: in the last three decades, Novosibirsk residents have been facing a steady deterioration in their standard of living. Rising inflation, rising utility rates and rising prices for essential goods create a significant financial burden on the population:

  • The party proposes specific economic and social measures aimed at stabilizing the budget and improving the situation of citizens. Our efforts are yielding first results: after the publication of data on unjustified expenses in housing and communal services tariffs, charges for residents were adjusted downwards. Our work continues. We are confident that the proposed solutions will help change the situation in the interests of the people, - the deputy emphasized.

I just read here, farmers are plowing under entire tomato crops, rather than sell at a loss. But corporate farms usurp subsidies meant to help small farmers, so they get paid to do this.
