I was one of them; playing as women in video games while lamenting that I hadn’t been born a girl. This was before I even knew what trans was, what dysphoria was, or even had the language to express how I was feeling or the knowledge to understand what I was feeling in the first place.

One of these confused young people is my son, now 21 years old, who, it turns out, had been using the default “girl” skin of Minecraft, often shown in marketing alongside a more fitting masculine character. While this is not concerning on its own, having done so since the age of 11 will surely have contributed to his gender confusion.
hate how they call it gender confusion when “i feel more comfortable presenting and identifying as something else” is in fact gender clarity.

This is unfathomably stupid. People have been roleplaying as opposite gender characters in games for longer than computers have existed. Women’s roles in theatre used to be played exclusively by men, and nobody in the 16th century was writing inane diatribes about how “Shakespeare doth turn thy children trans”.
