The Amazon deforestation and “tree burning” as you put it is in great part done by Western imperialism. The blame for a “child dying of asthma in Memphis” is in great part done by the US fascism that targets the poor and have lax environmental laws. Both can be traced back to capitalism and not to the IA. It is very surreal to encounter Westerners falling to Luddism just to deflect the blame from capitalism.

There is no shortage of wonderful artists who put their thoughts, lived experiences and emotions into making revolutionary music that is infinitely better. I am sorry but this is false. For this to be true, you have to deny that the people of the whole Global south existed. If we don’t exist in your world, you will be right. Tech in the hands of capitalists will always be used to accumulate capital and hurt the workers. However, all of this logic is transformed when the owner of the tool changes to the workers owning in the means of production.

I may be seeing this backwards but the amount of resources extracted and used for generating titty picks (among other things) making them more expensive and better speculation objects doesnt sit right with me.

But i dont see at least the western AIs as ethically consumable. Moreover I think while there arguably is not ethical consumption under capitalism, there is such a thing as “purposefully unethical consumption” which I would call usage or promotion of AI.
As an IT person, I do have a more technical perspective on it. Billions of cycles of compute power are being wasted for AI every second and the people who barely hang on today will probably slip over the edge tomorrow because of our use of AI.
To me, using for profit AI is like keeping slaves.

Back to the topic at hand, all the issues that you proceed to describe here are still caused by capitalism and we all know that to solve most of these issues, such as the access to clean water, the tendency worsening which I assume that you are referring to basic needs and resource extraction in general, is socialism. The AI tool is not the cause of any of the stuff and even if you eliminate AI you will still have all of those issues that you listed.

It is not just China! Lots of other AES are starting to use it such as Cuba, Venezuela(soon to be AES) and Nicaragua(now an AES) with the news media(example JP+).

I agree with you here. Sadly, this problem regarding not being ethically consumable is already in most of the other tools and products that we produce. As an example, our phones, electronics and laptops that use resources from child labor in the DRC. The solution against non ethical production of most resources is to shed away capitalism and defeat imperialism. Not to shed away the tools.

Good, you have the same background as me then! Yogthos goes in detail of certain aspects about the AI here. For me, he lists plenty of positive aspects from I have also seen in my job as a IT worker. If possible, give it a look and share your thoughts.

I fear that we are nearing perfect warfare and mindcontrol with AI while reversing any climate change counterefforts atm. It see it as the tool the bourgeoise uses to keep in power rn.
