Are there any privacy-centered GPS apps that can save your location history locally? I’m a contract consultant and it would make invoicing for my time much easier if I can have a local, private version of the google timeline feature.

This app nags you to turn your location on. It should only ask 1 time. I know my location is off, it’s off on purpose. This is an offline map app.

I agree its annoying, but just to add: AFAIK by default it doesn’t use the google “Control access point inclusion” (which uses internet to enhance the location accuracy) so even with location on, by default its quite private. Only uses your internal GPS receiver and doesn’t share this info outside the app.

But yeah it is indeed a bit annoying that it nags about the location everytime you open the app.

      Edit: added words.

Good to know. It is still a great app and light years nicer than google and their shady business model.

          Agreed!

And of course, as with everything, there is always stuff to improve. My comment was to just to add to yours - i still agree that on daily use the popup is annoying. Thankfully it’s not privacy invasive!
