I bought the full collection last year for like $50. $20 for the first three and all DLC, and like $30 for the complete Borderlands 3 (I had gotten the other ones so decided to just get the full series).

Then I actually went and got Wonderlands and had an actual blast playing it.

Pitchford gives off some strong “do you guys not have phones” energy. He’s so out of touch it’s astounding.

Like waiting 6 months for them to panic over low sales and put on 50% sale?

Maybe, or maybe I’ll wait for the ultimate edition with all dlc to hit $40

Borderlands 3 is in a free giveaway after a year or so on Epic Games. The sales must be abysmal to give a flagship franchise away for free, because of Randy being a bitch and insist exclusive is good. This will hopefully bite them back like last time.

When $40 is half price, I will generally pass as if it were $80. There is a glut of amazing content out there for $40 or less, and much of it is truly inspired indie work. When your half-price game is competing with great full-price indie titles, I will continue to ignore your overpriced corporate muck.

        Weinstein? Diddy? Epstein?

I think the more apt description would be that when you’re got something that makes other people money, then you will be protected. When that ends you’re fair game.

I also agree that the more money you have the better defence you can get, but I don’t believe laws only apply to the poor. That’s hyperbole.

          So the logic is…

The laws only apply to the poor except for exceptions where rich are on their way to poor and can be used as examples of the exception .

I don’t believe that’s what I said, or at least it wasn’t my intention. I was more trying to highlight that wealthy people (which are not in the way to being poor) will be protected by the people that stand to gain from that protection, not simply for being rich.

I also explicitly said that the justice system does favour the rich, not in a malicious way but more because we have a system that means rich folk can afford more man hours which translates to a better defence.

I want to be clear I’m not defending rich folk here, just being a pedant I guess.

          Weinstein? Diddy? Epstein?

All three of those examples got away with it for literal decades.

Both Weinstein and Diddy were known dangers in their industry.

They took Epstein out because you know he had compromat on Trump. Best friends.

Or - the Cosby shit was an open secret. No one cared until Hannibal Buress started pointing it out.

Literally what I’m saying. They got away with it because they had utility for other people and when they no longer did that’s when they get indicted, cause people stop running cover.

    Randy pitchford?

THAT Randy Pitchford? The Randy Pitchford that, because he loves magic tricks, downloaded himself some squirt porn (sfw youtube link to moistcritical) on the same thumb drive as company secrets, and then left it at a Medieval Times? The same Randy that grabbed the Claptrap VA by the junk because he was tired of voicing Claptrap for free and had the audacity to ask to be paid so Pitchford tried to intimidate him? The same Randy Pitchford that somehow “lost” millions dollars of Segas money causing Colonial marines to bomb so that they could fund Borderlands 2 and Duke Nukem Forever He’s also not above putting journalists who bad mouth him in his games as petty revenge.

Fuck that guy. Fuck anything he says.

I’m not gonna sit and tell a man he can’t have a kink preference in his own home on his own time.

But Jesus fuck on the company thumb drive? Bro is a ceo and cant afford a “personal folder” usb. Here $12 for a 128Gb one on Amazon is not uncommon And then to be so distracted he forgot it.

You’ve missed the part where that was actually something he said. Who cares about what the idiot’s exact kink, he had to save his honour telling people it wasn’t “really” porn.

If I recall the feud correctly, Eddings previously worked on Claptrap as a favor for free (or next to it). As far as the back and forth on Twitter indicates, when he said he wanted “Id like to be paid this time”, Pitchford initially pushed back, and then offered “2x union rates” (whether Pitchford actually offered that or said it on twitter afterward to garner sympathy we may never know), but Eddings refused the offer since gearbox was (at the time) about to make its 3rd lootershooter in a monsterously successful chain and he was one of the most prominent side characters. Thats what triggered Pitchford to attempt to intimidate him in front of a hotel elevator.

Bro is a blight on Gearbox. And no one is sure how or why the board hasn’t gotten rid of him.

Per Wikipedia: In 2018, former Gearbox lawyer Wade Callender filed a lawsuit against Pitchford,[42] that alleged that Pitchford had left a USB drive containing sensitive Gearbox information and “child pornography” at a Medieval Times in 2014. Pitchford clarified that the pornographic film on the USB drive was not child pornography and stated that he had saved the pornography for the purposes of studying a sexual act performed by the female actress that he claimed to be similar to a “magic trick”. Gearbox said they would file a grievance with the State Bar of Texas against Callender for “filing a lawsuit that includes accusations that he knows to be untrue”. An August 2019 filing further alleged Pitchford and his employers of contempt. In October 2019, both sides announced that the lawsuit had been dropped, and a joint statement by the parties called the issue a misunderstanding, and further stated that Pitchford had been exonerated.

I can barely justify 50€ for a massive game like Baldur’s Gate 3. I’d never pay that much for any other game that is not on this scale. But 80 bucks? The fuck are they thinking?

They don’t have any dlc lined up yet so not being to sell you empty promises on top of a normal game price is really tugging at Randy’s purse strings.
