I am probably going to trade in my car for an EV this year. I have been following the technology for a while but I really do no not like all the touchscreen nonsense.

Do you like your EV? What is it? What are the pros and cons of your experience?

The Ford MachE and the Subaru Solterra are at the top of my list but I like the KIA too.

Yo try em all out. Look at the cheapest on the market. It’s really not worth getting a luxury car for 50 or 60k.

Used can have really good deals. 30 or so for new crossovers or a lot less than that for older cars.

Look at three numbers for each car: time for 10-80%, kwh/mi, and range - important in that order.

If you travel a lot, look at the driver assist settings. Some, like the VW, are intelligently dumb - It’s all local, no ‘maps’ needed for advanced cruise or lane keep assist. Others, like GM/Ford are subscription based to be able to use it.

I picked up an Ultimate trim used 2021 Hyundai Kona EV with under 30k miles on it back in December for under $19k. Haven’t regretted it for a second. It was a corporate lease previously so it was in pristine shape.

        Charging at home is amazing.

FWIW, the Kona EV (at least my model) mostly has buttons and knobs. The screen is 10", but it’s one of those ultra-wide ones so it’s not as big as the diagonal measurement makes it sound.
