Yah I am getting fucking SICK of all these “owning the right” and “leopards are eating their faces” memes.

      THE CONSERVATIVE ORCS ARE CHEERING.

This “engagement culture” has taught us to keep clicking on things that make us feel good, distancing us from the truth and reality.

I swear the left has almost an equally distorted picture of the real world as the right, at least the ones who spend all their days scrolling their curated feeds. We are NOT winning, we are NOT sitting here smug while the conservatives whither into the background, they are fucking in control of the world’s wealthiest, most powerful country and they are celebrating every day. The number of worried neolibs out there who lost their 401K’s or the like and are booing Republicans at town halls are a minority.

I swear this is why we lost this last election. Too many people checked out, didn’t care, figured there was no way people would vote in such an obvious crook… AND YOU NEVER CHECKED WHAT THE OTHER SIDE WAS SEEING AND DOING.

Fucking 55% of eligible voters showed up. And now we’re gonna lose it all because too many of you thought yourselves the main characters who didn’t need to make a choice.

I kept telling people that Frederick Douglas helped Lincoln’s campaign at a time when Lincoln couldn’t promise to end slavery. I got called every name in the book for suggesting that a less than perfect candidate was much better than an absolute fascist.

    Are you guilty?’ said Winston.

‘Of course I’m guilty!’ cried Parsons with a servile glance at the telescreen. ‘You don’t think the Party would arrest an innocent man, do you?’ His frog-like face grew calmer, and even took on a slightly sanctimonious expression. ‘Thoughtcrime is a dreadful thing, old man,’ he said sententiously. ‘It’s insidious. It can get hold of you without your even knowing it. Do you know how it got hold of me? In my sleep! Yes, that’s a fact. There I was, working away, trying to do my bit—never knew I had any bad stuff in my mind at all. And then I started talking in my sleep. Do you know what they heard me saying?’

He sank his voice, like someone who is obliged for medical reasons to utter an obscenity.

‘“Down with Big Brother!” Yes, I said that! Said it over and over again, it seems. Between you and me, old man, I’m glad they got me before it went any further. Do you know what I’m going to say to them when I go up before the tribunal? “Thank you,” I’m going to say, “thank you for saving me before it was too late.”’

    ‘Who denounced you?’ said Winston.

‘It was my little daughter,’ said Parsons with a sort of doleful pride. ‘She listened at the keyhole. Heard what I was saying, and nipped off to the patrols the very next day. Pretty smart for a nipper of seven, eh? I don’t bear her any grudge for it. In fact I’m proud of her. It shows I brought her up in the right spirit, anyway.’

So what you’re telling me is that across the board a third to half of all Americans are disgusting pigs who deserve everything that’s coming for them?

Exactly. As a European it’s absolutely high time that we cut all ties with these lunatics and stop letting them into our continent!

I genuinely think that most maga just are fully uneducated about what is currently happening. Most probably don’t even know that people have been disappeared. Their bubble is so fucking densely packed with stupid, nothing real gets in

This was so obviously gonna happen with Trump back in office. But at least we saved the Palestinians by not voting for Kamala, right?

Maybe Kamala shouldn’t have tried to take over the conservatives, and instead focussed on politics that matter. But I guess that worked out really good for her and the country!

Well the important thing is that you found a way to blame her instead of the actual people doing the actual things.

I am not blaming her for what is happening right now, I am blaming her for leaning too far right, and not being able to win with that.

Boy am I glad that some voters left their brains at home because their little feelings got hurt by Kamala. Makes me feel real good about that outcome knowing that they showed Kamala who’s boss! /s 🤮

I think politics need to be interesting for people to vote. If the expected outcome is that everything only worsens a bit, you’ll never get people to vote for you. So by leaning right, she basically tried to appease the conservatives, but made progressives lose interest. I don’t think that anyone (or a substancial number) on the left tried to “own” her.

Hopefully there will be next elections, and hopefully there will be a party worthy of voting for it.

(Also disclaimer, I am not american, and am just objectively stating the obvious)

The thing is that it took a powerful coalition of countries to actively wage war against him for years for that to happen. I am not seeing anything similar happening here.

This is all on Americans themselves.

Hey, we’re working on creating that broad coalition right now! Don’t worry, invading Canada, Mexico, Panama, Greenland, Disneyland and MacDonald’s Island should help motivate the world! If that doesn’t do it, we have plans to bomb China, Australia, Costa Rica, Maine, Disney World, Loompaland, and Imagination Land.

I guess that’s what happens when you make doomed political choices and threaten annexation while forcing economic warfare on your closest allies.
