I’ve never had a MicroSD card fail on me for the most part. I think MicroSD cards have the benefit of being able to be moved between devices.

I would say that’s the big difference to losing or dropping your phone.
How would a failing MicroSD card be any different than losing or dropping a phone? I’ve never had a MicroSD card fail on me for the most part.
