“ZOURI is an eco-vegan footwear brand that uses plastic trash from the Portuguese coast together with ecologic and sustainable materials.”
100% made in Portugal. Also those soles are epic.
Check them out: https://www.zouri-shoes.com/
Did the freightliner carrying the plastic trash shoes to port sink or something?
Couldn’t find a pair i liked in my size
Hi from Portugal, my wife and I have a couple pairs of these. Super comfortable, and you’re helping pay to clean Portuguese beaches!
Expensive as hell
There were some on sale for like 60€
Ok? Is that product biodegradable? Or if it gets put in the ocean does it become the 2nd generation material for these shoes?
Why would they put the shoes back in the ocean?
Why did that turtle end up with a straw in his nose? Humans are the worst thing that has happened to the earth.
It’s up cycled trash. So it help reduce the use of virgin plastic. But it’s only slightly better than plastic shoes
Yeah, it’s a weird concept that I’m not sure how I feel about it…
On the one hand, I’m paying towards something which makes cleaning the ocean more cost effective
On the other hand, when I’m done with the shoes… do I… burn them?
What do you do with your shoes in general when you’re done with them? I don’t understand how that process would be any different with these shoes. The point is only that they are made from plastic found at the beaches of Portugal and organic material (cotton). When you buy them, you use them just like any other shoes.
these are slick, kind of surprised they aren’t all vegan though? using animal products isn’t very aligned with the climate conscious mission of their line.
Which product is not vegan? I’m looking and I only see vegan ones.
It’s probably some UX/Marketing to specifically put “Vegan Shoes” in the header on their website.
On the about page it says this:
ZOURI is an eco-vegan footwear brand that uses plastic trash from the Portuguese coast together with ecologic and sustainable materials.
After reading the headline I thought it’s about Shoes that are made from plastic trash are now found in the ocean. I was rather relieved after reading the text :-)
Give it time.
