Editorial

Mexicans: workers, peasants, students, honest professionals, chicanos, progressive of other countries, we have started the fight we need to make demands that the Mexican State has never satisfied: work, land, roof, food, health, education, education, independence, Freedom, democracy, justice and peace.

We had walked hundreds of years asking and believing in promises that were never fulfilled, they always told us that we were patients and that we knew to wait better. They recommended prudence, they promised us that the future would be different. And we saw no, everything remains the same or worse as our grandparents and our parents lived. Our people still starve to hunger and curable diseases, plunged into ignorance, in illiteism, in inculture. And we have understood that, if we do not fight, our children will go through the same. And it is not fair.

The need went together and said enough. There is no time, nor a encouragement to wait for others to come to solve our problems. We organize and have decided to demand our wielding weapons, just as the best children of the Mexican people have done throughout their history.

We have begun fighting against the Federal Army and other repressive forces; We are thousands of Mexicans willing to live for the country or die for freedom in this necessary war for all the poor, exploited and miserable of Mexico and we will not stop until our purposes are achieved.

We exhort them to join our movement because the enemy we face, the rich and the State, are cruel and ruthless and will not set limits to their bloodthirsty nature to end us. It is necessary to fight on all the fronts of struggle and hence that your sympathy, your solidarity support, the dissemination they give to our cause, that the ideals we demand, which are incorporated into the revolution raising raising To their peoples wherever they are, they are very important factors until the final triumph.

The Mexican alarm is the newspaper of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation and meets the task of informing our people about the development of the fair war that we have declared to our class enemies. In this first issue we present the declaration of war that we make to the Federal Army, and the orders that must be fulfilled by the chiefs and officers of the EZLN troop in their progress in the national territory. Likewise, the revolutionary laws that will be imposed, with the support of the peoples in struggle, in the territories released to guarantee their revolutionary control and the bases to begin to build a new homeland are presented.
