That line breaks me every time.
I guess I wasn’t think of the same movie: Screamers (1995).
Basically there’s a war, and that war is fought by increasingly more sophisticated drones that get under the sand and bork you once they see you.
Worth a watch.
You have awoken the last few neurons that remember being terrified of those things. Now I gotta find that movie.
Don’t worry. Based on the fact that no government wants to ban AI-enabled killing machines, we’re highway-ing-to-hell towards a similar, albeit less glamorous future.
