One year ago, on Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas militants attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking 250 hostages. The attack triggered the Israel-Hamas war that has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza, and a year of misinformation.

Images and videos that have been altered or taken out of context flooded social media platforms, distorting reality. Some social media users tried to downplay the casualties, claiming “crisis actors” were being employed. Other posts mischaracterized the U.S.’ involvement in the conflict.

This is pretty rich coming from an overt propaganda outlet.

There’s disinformation in their very first sentences:

One year ago, on Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas militants attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking 250 hostages.

This is propaganda whitewashing the people killed by zionist forces.

The attack triggered the Israel-Hamas war genocide that has killed tens hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, Lebanese, Syrians, Iranians, Americans and many others.

The false equivalence of “war” is a very common propaganda technique along with the erasure of the victims of zionism.

    and a year of misinformation.

Yes, nationalist propaganda like pbs/npr is full of misinformation, distortions, omissions, propaganda, etc. It’s an absolute joke when they pretend to be a voice of reason.
