The story of this game is so underrated

I bought Nightreign last summer expecting a "fortinte-clone" without a plot, for nerds addicted to bossfights (me). Now, after finishing all basic characters quests, I realised I've been totally fooled. As a fan of personal, intimate and emotional storylines, I prefer them to epic tales about gods and glory, which comprise most of the base game and the DLC. Finding out that every character has one such story you have to unravel was a good sign. But I didn't expect they are so well-crafted: mindblowing twists, one of the best cutscenes in the series (I'm not exaggerating), and, finally, lore that actually filling the gaps in the base game worldbuilding! I cannot recommend this game enough. And I think I'm obsessed. Don't know for how long, and would I actually grind in the "ranked" mode, but FromSoftware (and Junya Ishizaki personally) have my biggest respect once again.
