Hatred for new accounts on Lemmy is related to people's inability to debate the merit of a post on its own so they engage in ad hominem and strawmen fallacies to weaponize their weak arguments.

Watch for this behavior and you will see it often.If a Lemmy user can call out the age of an account he or she will use that as a way to dismiss and degrade the post that he or she does not agree with.

Y'all would enjoy Lemmy a lot more if you just focused on the post and stopped feeling compelled to rummage through someone's post history.

Sure, if that person has extreme political views, is a Nazi, or is astroturfing then maybe you have cause but clicking every single profile to find dirt to make an argument showcases your poor debate skills.
