Spain: Podemos calls for severing ties with the US and leaving NATO after the aggression against Venezuela

Podemos llama a romper lazos con EEUU y salir de OTAN tras agresión a Venezuela | HISPANTV

Representatives of Podemos have condemned the US aggression against Caracas and demand that Spain break relations with the US and leave NATO immediately.

“The US thinks the world belongs to them and that they can do whatever they want with its people. We cannot allow this. I strongly condemn this attack on Venezuela. Spain is a country of peace. Let's break off relations with the US and leave NATO before it's too late,” stated Podemos Secretary General Ione Belarra this Saturday on her Twitter account .

These statements come after the military offensive launched by the United States in the early hours of January 3 against Caracas and the states of Miranda, Aragua and La Guaira, which included air attacks and left casualties among the population and soldiers, prompting the immediate reaction of the Spanish party.

For her part, MEP Irene Montero, also a member of Podemos, reaffirmed her stance on the US aggression and called for immediate action from the Spanish government.

Montero stated on her X account that “Trump is bombing Venezuela. The US is a danger. Either we stop them or they will destroy everything. Spain is a peaceful country and the government must break all alliances with the US, starting with NATO. All my support to Venezuela. Once again, no more wars for oil.”

Podemos has insisted that the aggression against Caracas demonstrates the need to review Spain's international relations, defending the sovereignty of peoples and condemning the interventionist US policy.

On Saturday night, Caracas (the Venezuelan capital) and the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira were the scene of aggression by US forces.

Condemning US attacks, the Venezuelan government has ordered a shift to armed struggle following airstrikes against it. Several Latin American leaders have also condemned the latest US aggression against Venezuela.
