why do conservative media figures omit the word "The" from their sentences?

a lot of conservatives use sentences like

"I love country, I love government"

instead of

"I love the country, I love the government"

is it just to appeal to the large percentage of Americans who are illiterate or something...? idk why but it really pisses me off
