Helping Hands for a Very Old GHO

This is Aurum.

He is an ANCIENT great Horned Owl who was in desperate need of help earlier today when we received a call from Glenn Johnson from the Paradise Falls Lutheran association. Glenn reported Aurum wasn't able to fly and looked like he needed help. Glenn was able to safely place a box over Aurum until our organization arrived to transport him back to our hospital

Upon intake we discovered he was infested with lice and hippoboscidae flies in addition to severe head trauma, extreme dehydration and emaciation. We are treating him for anemia (from the parasite administering subcutaneous fluids and anti inflammatories and also providing supportive care. We are hoping Aurum pulls through so that he can be returned to the wild and back to his home where the community clearly went above and beyond to find help for this beautiful creature on a holiday weekend. > Thank you to everyone involved.
